biggest surpise? a Primary Display Resolution of 1024x768 being the most popular. it's only .2% ahead of 1280x1024, but still...that's small even for a laptop. are people that dumb where they buy these nice new LCDs and dont even change the resolution or does 25% of steam gamers use 15 year old CRTs?

1920x1200 on a 17" must be a laptop. laptop screens often use higher pixel density panels to icnrease the resolution for the same size. i'm not a huge fan unless you increase the font/GUI size.
ditto to fox. @ school our images are for max LCD rez but i think 96DPI font. makes everything readable no matter the rez and gives everyone more screen space. but, you do what they tell you to do...

well, you have to take into account that the computer will run hellishly faster without that extra resolution, even with the same size monitor.
and taking into account the fact that 40% of them are only using a single core processor? they are probably sacrificing the resolution to just be able to run shit. if they even have a screen that can run anything higher.
sounds to me like old tech.
