So you said you have a 22 degree Porter, and use 30 degree Paslode nails? I got my compressor and that gun today. I didn't see 22 degree nails at Home Depot, they looked to all be 30 degree strips. They fit perfectly in the guide. I assumed the degree was the angle of the nail strip, right? So if they slide in smoothly and fit, then it's the right size, right? I nailed a couple in, but now when I pull the trigger it just shoots a burst of air and no nail. Nothing is jammed in it. When I look up into the head, the nails don't look straight, it looks like the pressure of the slider is causing them to bunch up instead of staying in a nice line like the strip is not in the track.
The manual is all but useless.
Any tips? How hard should I push the nails with the slider?
Building a shed, question
30 degree nails work fine in a 22 degree gun...been using them for years now.
To load: pull the forward assist back and it'll lock. Put one strip in for now...then hold the forward assist and release it and don't let it fly forward, just move it with your hand forward. Make sure the little notch on the forward assist is on top of the last nail...that'll hold it down.
Test it out. You don't need plastic collated nails, and I'm not sure they'll even work properly in your gun.

Does yours use round head or clipped head?
I have this, it uses round full head nails.

The lighter photos are Saturday progress, the darker are where I stopped on Sunday. Cutting the plywood and hanging it took a lot longer than expected. Lot of stuff I didn't account for timewise, like suports for the walls until all 4 were up, the drilling of the holes took way longer than planned, because the guy that did the slab did not ensure that they were all spaced the same from the edge.
